(31 in 31 - #5) Invocation*

In honor of International Women's Day...

I was brought up from the earth
Tempered in the flames of the crucible
Quenched in the holy water
And blown clean by the winds of change!

All things merge within me
And flow forth, transformed, through me!
I am the nexus, the fulcrum, the pivot!

My eyes behold the beauty
My ears behold the beauty
My nose beholds the beauty
My hands do hold the beauty
Within me and around me,
Above me and beneath me.

I am the change I see in the world.
I am the chosen one, the awaited one, the prophesied one.
I am still and know truly that I Am!
I move forward in the rush of the dynamic YES!

I am the Daughter of Changing Woman
Bringing the Change to the world!
Sisters and Brothers of Love, Life, and Laughter,
Come and change the world with me!

AI-YAH!
(and so it is)

(31 in 31 - #4) Deep Wisdom

The purr of a single cat
Can dispel a thousand sorrows.

(31 in 31 - #3) Rainy Lullaby

I heard the rain singing to me last night.
I felt my shoulders drop a foot, and my heart sighed in joy.
My entire body softened and took a full breath.

I do not hear a sad song when the rain starts to fall.
The rain sings of slowing down,
relaxing,
breathing deeply
and moving gently.
No need to rush or hurry,
Take the time to savor this moment.

The rain provides a lovely backdrop
for activities centered in the Slow,
like reading,
meditating,
and sleeping.

I fell asleep last night listening to the song of the rain.
It is the lullaby for my wild child within.

(31 in 31 - #2) Peace is...

Allowing the wind to push you across the lake as you float upon a bed of reeds.

The sound of a rushing stream, happy unto itself.

Sitting in the presence of a Queen.

Birds singing for the joy of singing.

Knowing that there's an oasis of calm that you can visit when the "outside world" gets a little too hairy.

Napping after enjoying some time in the sun.
Knowing that you are loved, and love-able.

(31 in 31 - #1) Kitchen Haiku

Bubbling in the pot.
Doesn't matter what's cooking...
Gentle soothing sound.

Choosing to Accept...

I know this dancing mermaid. I have her badge on the side of my blog.
She's thrown down a challenge: 31 poems in 31 days.
I've read all 31 of her poems and enjoyed them immensely. I totally recommend that you read them too, if you haven't already.

I'm accepting her challenge.
They won't be winter poems; they'll be spring ones. They might not be posted exactly consecutively, but they will be posted - all 31 of them, right here.
The fun starts with the new moon...
Shall we see what blooms? :-)
